Mahindra’s sales up 18.72% in June 2009
Mahindra & Mahindra has reported an 18.72% growth in its total automotive sales in June, at 22,999 units, compared with 19,371 units in June last year. Domestic sales during the month stood at 22,526 units as against 18,179 units in the year-ago period, an increase of 23.91%. Exports, however, were down by 60.32% at 473 units during June this year, as compared to 1,192 units in June 2008.
M&M’s sales of utility vehicles in June 2009 registered a growth of 56.07% at 17,653 units, as against 11,311 units in June 2008. On the other hand, three-wheeler sales declined by 22.74% at 3,357 units, as compared to 4,345 units in June last year.
LCV sales were also down 13.4%, at 1,015 units in June 2009, as compared to 1,172 units in June 2008. The Mahindra-Renault Logan continued its dismal performance, with just 501 units being sold in June this year, as compared to 1,351 units in June 2008.
