Honda India has cut the price of Civic Hybrid by a whopping 8 lakh rupees!! The company looks forward to boost the sales of its environmentally friendly car in the growing unfriendly automobile environment. The price cut comes with immediate effect and becomes historic as the sharpest price cut in the Indian automobile history.
The launch price of the car was Rs. 21.5 lakh but the new price after the price cut is Rs. 13.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The hybrid model from Honda had made a lot of customers interested in the car. However, the car was imported as a completely built unit and attracted heavy import duty.
Honda, which only sold 60 units of the Civic Hybrid in India over the last five months, sold 98 units of the car in one single day, immediately after the price cut was announced. Of course, one can only imagine the plight of those poor souls who bought the very same car at its earlier price of Rs 21.5 lakhs!!

Winning International Bike of the Year underlines the fact that Ducati has made a world-class motorcycle with the 1098. The tough choices were made when defining numbers two and three. Triumph won the IBOTY title last year with its Daytona 675, and the British manufacturer was again able to impress journalists worldwide with the naked Street Triple. In third place we find for the first time a three-way tie: Honda CBR600RR, Yamaha YZF-R1 and Ducati 1098S.
With the 1098 in IBOTY’s top spot, 1098S in a shared third place, the DesmosediciRR in sixth and the Hypermotard in seventh, it’s clear that Ducati has only won several world titles in racing in 2007 but also the hearts and minds of journalists worldwide.

Robert Bosch CEO Bernd Bohr says the company wants to be the world’s leading supplier of hybrid technology, and has increased its hybrid technology engineering staff to a total of 400, up from just 100 a few years ago.
According to Bohr, the number one position is quite possible for Bosch because Japanese automotive suppliers have been focusing on providing components for hybrid systems rather than complete systems. Japanese automakers integrate these components into systems they have designed in-house.
Bosch will also start producing lithium ion battery cells through a partnership to be announced later this year to reduce warranty issues and as a synergy for its hybrid technology development plans.

The 2009 Hyundai Elantra is just a face-lift of the previous 2007 Hyundai Elantra . But whats there to admire is the change in the exterior and interior and call it just a face lift. The amazing feature is the interiors which is beginning to look great in the elantra, with some extra trims and extra features. The exteriors though changed from the front and back, the sides remain the same, which is a bit disappointing for an aggressive front and rear, but heck so what? it doesn’t spoil the look. The front has been changed massively while the rear is just tweaked from the existing car.
The engines will be the same. But we wont be getting this, as for now. If we get the news it will come, but possibilities are less. We might get the sedan version of the i30, or the 2007 Hyundai elantra. The 07 Hyundai Elantra will get old in another 1 year so we can expect the sedan version of the i30 in the coming years of 2009 or 2010.
