Nissan unveils second-generation Murano
Thursday, September 18th, 2008 Nissan , which is expected to launch the Murano SUV in India by the end of this year or by early-2009, has unveiled its second-generation Murano, which features revised styling and which is supposed to be much better equipped than its predecessor.
The new Murano is powered by a 3.5-litre petrol V6, which makes 256 horsepower and 334Nm of torque. This engine is supposed to be one of the more fuel efficient engines in its class, and is fully compliant with all the latest emissions norms. The engine mated to Nissan’s Xtronic CVT gearbox, which is said to be very responsive, and which is supposed to boost fuel efficiency. The Murano also features permanent, computer-controlled 4WD.
Nissan claim that the new Murano has been given a stiffer all-wheel drive platform and revised suspension, which improves driving dynamics. According to a company press release, ‘The Murano will continue to appeal to customers who appreciate the fusion of the dynamic driving characteristics of a luxury saloon and the security, space and desirability of an SUV.
The new Murano is quicker, more economical to run, sportier yet more refined to drive, and boasts a sumptuous, contemporary interior clad in a more elegant, all-new exterior.’
