“India is a big market for the future for Lamborghini. It is a big country and the attitude of buyers is now changing and they are becoming more open to buying ultra luxury high-style brands like ours,” says Enrico Maffeo, global director of sales and customer service for Lamborghini.
The growing economic crisis has not deterred these car makers to make India as their next favourite destination. There is a selected class that still opts for these premium models and car makers do not look at volumes when talking about sales figures. “Our business is not that much about volume. It is more of brands and desirability. Our plan is to create brand awareness, and the sales will follow,” he said.
Gallardo and Murcielago are the two models currently being sold by Lamborghini in India. It also sells their variants in the country such as Gallardo Superleggera and the convertible Gallardo Spyder falling in the price band of Rs 3 crores and above. The high profile branding is one of the key factors that prompt buyers to opt for this brand depicting the raging bull logo and delivering superior performance.

Gumpert Apollo vs Lambo LP640 on SoCal Fwy, 2008 GUMBALL 3000….
Possibly India’s most expensive car crash, a Lamborghini Murcielago ate dust in the Maharastrian capital of Mumbai. The dubious distinction came when the mid-engined supercar was being pushed to very high speeds, spun and lost control. Looking at the pictures, the front end is absolutely and completely destroyed with the front axle and wheels nowhere to be found!!
