Auto Expo is back!! It is India’s and Asia’s largest automotive show which will be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from 5th January to 11th January, 2010. The 10th Auto Expo will be organized jointly by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). With the launch of Tata Nano, India has become the global hub for its cost competitive and technologically advanced automotive products. The exhibitors list for Auto Expo 2010 has been uploaded on the official Auto Expo website. It is held every two years and is an useful platform for manufacturers to showcase their products to the public.
The German government has announced an official German pavilion at Auto Expo 2010. German companies in the automotive industry will benefit from the very attractive and interesting conditions within the official pavilion. Some of the major car companies are General Motors, Honda, BMW, Audi, Tata, Maruti, Mahindra, Renault, Toyota, Skoda, Volkswagen and Mercedes. Many new cars are expected to be launched at Auto Expo 2010 which will play a very significant role in the company’s product portfolio.

BMW India is set to make a bang with the launch of BMW 3-Series Executive which is stripped down version of regular 3-Series from which many options and accessories have been removed to make it more affordable.
It is expected that BMW 3-Series Executive is going to be priced around 24 lakh rupees which will make it the best sedan in its segment in comparison to its main rivals Audi A4 & Mercedes C-Class.
Honda India is on the final stages of production of its 100cc bike and the Japanese automobile major plans to unveil it soon. The 100cc is the largest segment in terms of volume in the Indian two-wheeler market. HMSI has presence in the 125-cc segment with the Shine and the Stunner models and in the premium 150cc segment with the Unicorn.
HMSI vice-president and operating head-purchase Anupam Mohindroo told reporters that the firm will soon launch the 100cc variant at the Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi. He further added that the 100cc vehicle will be a different model, unlike most other 100cc offerings as it will be based on the lines of the CBF Stunner 125.
After the huge success of recently launched Apache RTR 180 & Flame SR125, TVS India is has launched all new scooterette - TVS Wego. It has been launched with a price tag of 41,000 (Ex-Showroom). It is powered by a new 110cc engine which also powers the TVS Jive. The 110cc engine generates maximum power of 8.4 Bhp at 7500 rpm with 8 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. TVS has good experience in manufacturing scooterettes with automatic trasmission as they are selling TVS Scooty n good numbers.

It has been launched with a price tag of 42,500 (Ex-Showroom). Jive comes with with 4-speed transmission but features an handfree gearshift and It comes with Tmatic technology. TVS Jive comes with gear Indicator and underseat space (bottle,umbrella and document). It is powered by a new 110cc engine which also powers the TVS Wego.
The 110cc engine generates maximum power of 8.4 Bhp at 7500 rpm with 8.3 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. TVS has good experiance in manufacturing bikes with automatic clutch as they are selling TVS Neo in Indonesia and it is selling in good numbers.
Bajaj India seems to be all set to rock with New Pulsar 135, which is expected to be launched on 8th December, 2009. The teaser website is up - http://goodbyetraffic.in/ - which shows a black Pulsar wrapped under white semi-transparent cover which gives a glimpse of New Pulsar 135. On hovering the cursor around fuel tank you can see the Bajaj Pulsar logo with smart new design air scoops which gels very well with the design of the fuel tank. On hovering at the rear end of the bike you can see it will feature split seat with nitrox suspension.
No official statement has been made about the technical details, specifications and price of New 2010 Pulsar 135. May be the engines will remain the same - it can be only a cosmetic makeover to give pulsar a fresh lease of life. Let’s wait and watch!!
Rolls Royce has launched the Ghost has been launched in India and at Rs 2.5 crore and above, it’s now one of the most expensive luxury cars available in the country. Rolls-Royce expects to sell a total of around 75 cars in India in 2010, of which the Ghost could comprise 50-60 units. Rolls-Royce, which sold 15 units of the Phantom in India last year, sold a total of only 1,212 cars worldwide in 2008. Now, with the smaller, less expensive Ghost joining its line-up, the British luxury car manufacturer is hoping to double its sales in 2010 and expects future growth to come from countries like China and India.
Powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 that kicks out 563 horsepower and 780Nm of torque, the R-R Ghost is fitted with an eight-speed shift-by-wire automatic transmission from ZF. The car accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds and hits an electronically limited top speed of 248km/h.With dealerships only in Mumbai and Delhi, Rolls-Royce has a very limited presence in India, but has still garnered 25 bookings for the Ghost already.
Audi is all set to publically unveil the all new A8 on the eve of Design Miami on November 30th. The Audi flagship will be presented in a truly innovative way in a temporary museum structure, Audi pavilion which is focal point of “The Art Of Progress” which exhibits cultural and technological progress and echoes the value of the new A8: Vorsprung durch Technik and design expertise that stirs the emotions.
Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, commented on the exhibition concept: “Our claim “Vorsprung durch Technik” also embraces design, which is one of the outstanding elements of the Audi signature. The new Audi A8 promises to be an ultimate combination of performance, looks, luxury and technology. The flagship Audi luxury sedan will come with a slew of new engines which include V6 and V8 petrols and an all new Hybrid. A high performance model on the lines of the BMW 760Li and Mercedes S600 may also be launched.
