Hyundai to unveil new 1.6-litre CR turbodiesel
Thursday, September 18th, 2008Hyundai will be showing its new 1.6-litre common-rail turbodiesel (codenamed U2) at the upcoming Paris Motor Show next month.
This first car to use this new engine will be the i20 hatchback, which will be built in Hyundai’s plant near Chennai. Apart from being sold in the domestic market, this car will also be exported to Europe. The new 1.6-litre diesel is expected to be very fuel efficient, and will comply with all emissions norms worldwide.
New Mitsubishi car to be unveiled at Paris 2008

Mitsubishi will be unveiling a mysterious new model at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and above is the newly released teaser image of the car. It generally looks like the Lancer but the larger headlamps seem to point to the direction of either a compact hatch or an SUV of sorts as that front certain will not look good on a sedan.
Some are speculating a production version of the Mitsubishi Concept-cX, and others point to a facelifted Mitsubishi Colt with the Lancer design cues applied to it. We’ll know at the Paris Motor Show.

Tata Motors to unveil the Tata Xover
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 After unveiling the new Indica Vista today, the country’s largest automobile manufacturer Tata Motors said the company plans to launch ‘Tata Xover’ next.
” We will be unveiling the crossover ‘Xover’ between Safari and Sumo , which we displayed in Auto Expo two years back,” Tata Motors, President (Passenger Cars) Rajiv Dube told reporters without specifying the time frame for the move.
The crossover has features of an sport utility vehicle, a car and the versatility of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). It is much larger than the Tata Indigo Marina, which is in the UV platform.
For the consumer, the Tata Xover will blend the benefits of a family-friendly luxury tourer with refined driving dynamics and the visual cues of an activity-oriented sports utility vehicle.
The Tata Xover , a 4.85-meter car, uses a rugged frame-based design with large interior space and flexible seating that can comfortably accomodate up to 7 adults and ample cargo area.
Fiat Motors, with which the Tata enjoys a strategic partnership, will be launching a Fiat’s sedan, the Linea, in the next few months, Mr Dube added.
Mitsubishi Motors unveils Lancer Sportback at Paris Motor Show

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will unveil, for the first time at an international motor show, the Lancer Sportback at the Paris Motor Show 2008 being held in Halls 1-8 of the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from October 2 (October 4 for the general public) through October 19. The Lancer Sportback will have its European launch this fall with a phased introduction into the various countries in the region. The company will also be displaying the Lancer Ralliart and Lancer Sportback Ralliart models that are based on the Lancer. These models are powered by a turbocharged engine mated to Mitsubishi’s Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission) and delivering power to all four wheels through an Active Center Differential.
